The Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal 2025

With a storied history dating back more than 100 years, the Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal’s impactful legacy has inspired readers and staff alike. This year, we have chosen four charities whose work speaks to the very spirit of Christmas - offering support, connection and hope to those facing devastating illness or adapting to life with a disability and those who have served our country with duty and honour.

Following The Telegraph’s powerful summer campaign highlighting the need for a nationwide screening programme, we’re partnering with Prostate Cancer Research. Earlier this year, research found that prostate cancer had become the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Britain, with one in eight men expected to experience it during their lifetime. Prostate Cancer Research not only funds vital research towards finding a cure but offers information, support and advocacy to men and their families facing this dreadful illness.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Canine Partners, a charity that trains and matches assistance dogs to people with a wide range of physical disabilities, from cerebral palsy and arthritis, to the effects of stroke and spinal injuries. Proving that pets are capable of far more than just companionship, Canine Partners’ specially trained dogs can do everything from loading the washing machine to helping strip the bed, making them a vital lifeline for those with life-limiting conditions.

Military aid has always been a central pillar of the Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal and this year is no different. We will be supporting The Not Forgotten, a pioneering charity transforming the lives of veterans and serving personnel across the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force and the Merchant Navy, supporting those living with injury, illness or isolation. Its goal is to ensure that everyone who has served our country has the opportunity to feel dignity, confidence and joy through community.

Finally, we are proud to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Not only does this powerful charity work to provide dignity to individuals living with MND and support for their families but it is proactive in its search for a cure. By funding research, the charity provides hope for those living with the disease, which kills six people every day in the UK.

Christmas is a time for compassion, for community and for kindness. As we come together to celebrate the festive season we must also do our part for the people who sorely need our help to put some joy and cheer back into the world. Every year, you respond to our charity appeal with outstanding generosity. We humbly ask the same of you in 2025.
